Planning policy restraints

The client approached Crowley associates to help with a full planning application for a development comprising 20 dwellings (including four affordable dwellings). The development will deliver a mix of three, four and five-bed units with associated access, parking and amenity space; and a community garden.

After an unsupportive round of pre-application engagement with the Local Authority the client instructed us to proceed with the full application in the knowledge that there is scope to justify development in the context of emerging Development Plan policy, and the National Planning Policy Framework. The emerging local plan supports growth to the settlement in the area designated by the client. 


Due to the position of the site it was key that the design and architectural approach was carefully considered.
