We were approached, in this instance, by the client to look at the potential of developing land within the curtilage of his family home. The site used as cultivated garden, posed a number of challenges in terms of getting access; managing the setting of a listed building; and balancing the development against the objectives of the Sheffield Development Plan.

Seeing the potential of the site, Crowley Associates delivered a constraints plan; design rationale; and planning strategy for the client. Our work culminated in the submission of an outline application seeking consent for up to nine dwellings. Planning permission was granted at committee in August 2020 - there were no changes to the proposal during the lifetime of the application.
