Alteration and extension to a Grade II Listed lodge within the Green Belt.

Working on behalf of The Oakes Trust, Crowley Associates ran applications seeking planning permission and listed building consent as part of our pro-bono partnership. The applications sought permission for alterations and an extension to the Grade II Listed lodge which is within the Green Belt.
Following an unsuccessful appeal for alterations and extension in 2019, we helped inform the design to ensure that this time around the clients were successful, without the need for an appeal.
The works to the lodge include the replacement of an unsympathetic 20th century extension and the reinstatement of some of the original elements whilst also providing a new contemporary living space. The carefully considered design of the extension and internal reconfiguration of the lodge will provide much-needed improvements that will bring the building up to modern, habitable standards and also better reveal the significance of the lodge and its historic elevations.
