BBEST neighbourhood group

The BBEST neighbourhood group is made up of a diverse range of stakeholders with an interest in the Broomhill, Broomfield, Endcliffe, Summerfield and Tapton districts of Sheffield. BBEST emerged out of the neighbourhood planning initiative (introduced in the 2011 Localism Act) out of a desire to make their environment sustainable and to engage with development in a pro-active with a view to developing planning priorities that they feel best fit the needs of their area.

A Neighbourhood Plan must fit with broader planning priorities, including the City’s Local Plan, The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and relevant national and international legislation. It lasts for five years before review.

Crowley Associates were approached by BBEST as their planning consultant. We have offered professional support to the BBEST neighbourhood group on the best way of enabling the high-quality development within the Plan Area that benefits all parties involved, advising on planning options and engaging directly with a wide range of members.

BBEST has submitted its Neighbourhood plan to Sheffield City Council and it is currently in a six-week period of consultation.

We are looking forward to working with BBEST and developers to achieve developments that will greatly benefit the area.
