We have secured approval for the development of the 39-storey Kings Tower in the Castlegate area of Sheffield on a site identified as a key opportunity within the emerging City Centre Plan, marking the gateway to the area.
Sheffield City Council's Planning and Highways Committee voted unanimously in favour of our application - applauding the architecture - at the meeting of the Planning and Highways Committee on 8th December.
The building has been designed by award-winning architects Hodder + Partners for property developers SFGE Properties Ltd; its delivery is integral to the wider regeneration of this part of the City, and it sets an optimistic direction of travel for the quality of design within the area.
Kings Tower, which incorporates 206 apartments with commercial at ground floor, will sit alongside Phase 1 of the redevelopment of the former Primark store, which comprises 26,000sqft of new retail and leisure space and the 131-bed easyHotel - recently awarded a 2020 Travellers Choice Award by Tripadvisor after opening in 2018.
SFGE Properties Ltd expect to be on site by the summer of 2021, with Kings Tower completed and ready for occupation by autumn 2023.
Thanks to all the team including Andy Mayo from LTP, Neil Northrop of Weddles, and Andy Williams of Define without whom the project outcome would not have been a success. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with you.
