Project Profile – The client is seeking to reconfigure the internal layout of the ground floor of an existing dwelling. We are currently awaiting a decision.
Project Sensitivities—Listed Building Status
Key Issues – The status of the building and what defines its importance as a heritage asset is at issue.
Crowley Associates initially assessed the significance of the building in order to; establish what exactly defined its interest (architectural/historic) as a heritage asset and; to determine how adaptable the structure might be. We examined the physical fabric of the building, we mapped its evolution through history, we established its importance in the context of its wider setting and we located and examined all relevant public records concerning previous adaptations/changes to the fabric, we also examined precedent and researched relevant legislation and policy in order to inform our judgement. The investigation formed the basis for preparing our grounds of appeal
