Planning application
We were appointed by the client before the project even started. This allowed us to work with them and their architects to design and deliver a planning strategy that would be most successful.
The clients wanted to push the boundaries when it came to scale for this purpose-built student housing scheme. Situated in a designated conservation area and close to listed buildings, the area where this site was proposed was subject to policy presumptions that tightly control the types of residential development.
The 735-bed development was planned for a brownfield land site, which was heavily contaminated and situated in a busy area of the city, so the whole environment was dominated by noise.
We prepared, submitted, and managed a series of planning applications and the project was delivered over two phases, completing in November 2018.
