Cross Lane Appeal Success

We are delighted to have received news from the Planning Inspectorate that our appeal on behalf of a long-standing client, to develop an innovative and modern dwelling in Sheffield, has been allowed.

The appeal followed the refusal of planning permission to redevelop an overgrown and unsightly piece of land in a ‘backland’ location in Crookes, Sheffield.

Working alongside Ecclesall Design throughout the project, we had confidence in the case knowing how well the architecture responded to its unconventional location, which we think posed the biggest challenge for the Local Authority.

The Inspector sided with us on matters of quality of design and townscape impact, enabling our case to win through. This is an important decision noting the sensitivity of ‘backland’ development as a general principle.
